    Maybe Baby Class Overview:

    The Maybe Baby series is designed for prospective parents, singled, married or partnered, who are considering parenthood and interested in learning more about the options for building a family.   The series covers a wide range of topics, including readiness, overview of adoption, assisted reproduction, and surrogacy; financial and legal issues; building a support network; decision making as a couple; considerations for single parenting; and the joys and challenges of being an LGBTQ-headed family.  The class is designed to provide a balance of active discussion and sharing, as well as to gain practical, accurate information that helps set the foundation for moving forward. 


    In order to insure you get the most out of this class, please indicate your gender identity on the registration form. Your gender identity is an important piece of information for group facilitators to understand your needs as an individual or a couple, to identify the paths to parenthood that may be available to you, and assign you to the appropriate track of classes.

    Cost: The cost is $250 per couple, $150 for singles.

    Happy Halloween! Join us for a spooktacular evening of Halloween festivities! Everyone is encouraged to come in costume - parents, caregivers, children, and friends alike!  

    It promises to be a fun evening with music, dancing, crafts, food, fun, and, of course, a children's costume parade and contest. Kids of all ages are welcome! 

    Pre-Registration Rates are Available Online Only Thru the end of the day, Wednesday, October 25.

    Member Pricing: $10/Adult & $5/Child (3 and Up) - All children 2 and under are FREE.

    Non-Member Pricing: $15/Adult & $10/Child (3 and Up) - All children 2 and under are FREE.

    After Oct. 25, you may still register at the door. At the door registration pricing will be $15/Adult & $10/Child (3 and Up) for everyone.

    Join us for a fun-filled day at Cox Farm’s Pumpkin Madness! on Sunday, November 5, 2017.  Fun for all ages, Rainbow Families Annual Family Outing to Cox Farm includes pumpkin-smashing, hayrides, live music, farm animals, a corn maze, hill slides, and lots of other activities. Be sure to bring your used Jack O'Lanterns so they can be smashed and recycled!

    Fall Family Camp Weekend - Camp Tockwogh - Friday, Nov. 10-Sunday, Nov. 12

    Various Housing Options Available - Registration Fees $150-$160/Person Depending on Housing Selection

    Rainbow Families Sixth Family Camp Weekend will be held November 10-12, 2017 at Camp Tockwogh in Worton, MD (about a 2 hour drive from the DMV). Camp Tockwogh is a 309-acre family-friendly campground located on the Chesapeake Bay. Since the first camp weekend in 2011, nearly 100 parents and their children have annually attended Family Camp Weekend!

    Family Camp Weekend provides LGBTQ families with the very unique opportunity to forge personal connections and build community with one another. Together, parents and children spend the entire weekend enjoying the outdoors!

    Registration fees depend on your housing selecton $150-$160 per person (children and adults 4 years of age and up). Registration includes accommodations for two nights, all activities, and five meals. 

    Only include children 4 years of age and older as guest registrants to be factored into your payment. Children aged 3 and under are free.

    Housing Details:

    • Stewart Lodge (4 Years & Older) – $150 (USD) - The Stewart Lodge sleeps a total of 25 people. There are three sections for 8-9 people. Every section is equipped with an indoor bathroom and shower facility. Minimum of 4 per bedroom. Smaller families will be required to share each section accommodation. If you have a family in mind, please coordinate with them and request to be matched in housing with them.
    • Cottages (4 Years & Older) – $155 (USD) - Each cottage can sleep a total of 9. There are 3 separate bedrooms with private baths. Each bedroom has three beds. Family size determines number of bedrooms per family. If you have a family in mind, please coordinate with them and request to be matched in housing with them.
    • Conference Center/Tockwogh Lodge (4 Years & Older) – $160 (USD) - These camp accommodations include carpeted bedrooms that sleep 5-6 people each. Every bedroom is equipped with a private bathroom and shower facility. Only 7 units are available on a first come, first serve basis. Must have a minimum of 4 people per bedroom (adults and/or children).

    IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE RAINBOW FAMILIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

    In keeping with our organization's values of inclusivity and respect for all members of Rainbow Families, we have decided to postpone the family event at Camp Tockwogh due to to inadvertently planning the Camp Tockwogh weekend on the holiest of Jewish holidays, Yom Kippur. We deeply regret this error and any inconvenience to those members who have registered.

    We have been able to secure an alternative date and invite you to join us November 10-12.

    Refunds will be made and a new registration will open soon.

    Rainbow Families' Family Conference is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 8 AM-5 PM at Georgetown Day High School, 4200 Davenport St NW, Washington, DC 20016.  


    The conference is the largest gathering of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ)-headed family community in the region. The conference covers family planning workshops and panels for prospective parents and parent education workshops and panels for LGBTQ parents.


    Our Conference is a day full of both educational and social events, featuring activities and sessions that allow LGBTQ families to not only learn more about the topics that matter to them, but also to build on their own community of support.

    Festivities include:

    • Pack a picnic from home or purchase food from the café's express menu to enjoy on the magnificent lawn.
    • Play games on the lawn, including hula hoop, badminton, and jump rope.
    • Practice your putt on the Putting Green.
    • Get your face painted with your favorite garden critter.
    • Try on costumes from a collection of hero's capes, royal crowns, knight's shields, and more.
    • Create an art project of your very own to take home and discover Hillwood's treasures with an art search activity guide.

    Presented in partnership with Hillwood Estate, Museum, & Gardens.

    The program takes place rain or shine.  In the event of rain picnicking will take place under the shelter of the C.W. Post courtyard tent and the art project, face-painting, and dress-up activities will take place indoors.
