From the Board of Directors and myself, we extend sincere gratitude for helping make the 2021 Family Conference a great program for our community.  With special presentations by Congressman Mondaire Jones, the Indigo Girls, fantastic workshops and more.... it was a super event with nearly 400 attendees.  We look forward to the 2022 Family Conference which will be IN PERSON.   Be safe and happy Pride Month!

Catherine Kelly received Rainbow Families' 2021 Volunteer of the Year award at this pas weekend's Annual Family Conference.   Catherine is finishing her PhD program at George Washington University, yet still makes time each month to lead one of our longest-standing support groups, the Adoption Support Group.   She also coordinated our 2021 Needs Assessment Survey which garnered tremendous results and data for the LGBTQ+ community in/around Washington DC.   Hat's Off to You!

Rainbow Families, in collaboration with George Washington University, has created an extensive community needs survey.   Data from this will allow Rainbow Families and other LGBTQ service providers to offer the best, most meaningful services possible.   If you live in DC/Maryland/Virginia we invite you to contribute - it takes 15 minutes.  Thank you.  LINK

When we announced the Pen Pal program two weeks ago, connecting kids with Rainbow Families US with kids with Rainbow Families Australia, we were overjoyed at the response.  In a short time we've connected nearly 30 kids!  For more info click HERE

We're delighted to announce the details for our 18th Rainbow Families Conference  -  May 22 & 23, 2021.    As was the case with our 2020 Conference, this will be an entirely virtual event. While we will surely miss the chance to be together in person, last year's conference showed us the power of digital connection, and it was one of our best-attended conferences ever!  This year will feature a truly virtual environment and added opportunities to make connections with one another.  More info is on our homepage under '2021 Conference'.  Registration opens soon!

With our new website seems a good time for a reminder - update your profile.  Members, for example,  should decide what information (if any) you want shared with other members in our Directory.   For members with children, listing their name and birthday ensures they'll receive a birthday card each year (and verify we have your current address!).   Rest assured, Rainbow Families will never sell or share member data.
