As a part of the D.C. Psychological Association’s outreach to DC Metro Area citizens during the pandemic crisis, Dr. Douglas Favero and Gabriel DeLong are co-facilitating a series of FREE virtual support groups for the LGBTQ+ community.

Dr. Douglas Favero (He/him/his) has been seeing clients in private practice—many of them from the LGBTQ+ community of which he is a member—for over thirty-five years. He started his professional life in D.C. teaching inner-city high school students. During the early years of the AIDS epidemic, he supervised paraprofessional volunteers as the Co-director of Whitman Walker Clinic AIDS Support Group Program. As a part of his private practice, he has always facilitated gay men’s psychotherapy groups.
Gabriel DeLong (He/him/his) is a student representative for the District of Columbia Psychology Association Board (DCPA). He is a Counseling Psychology graduate student at Wayne State University. He graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He has served as a leader for LGBT youth as well as a choreographer, dance instructor, and election observer in DC. His clinical and research interests include body image among sexually diverse men, how youth perceive support, and suicide prevention. When he is not studying, presenting, or writing, Gabriel enjoys spending time with his husband Mark, watching TV, and cuddling with his cat.
