Community Strengths and Resilience as QTBIPOC Parents
(a QPOCX virtual event)

Description - The purpose of this workshop is to provide an intersectional community learning space for LGBTQ+ and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPOC) parents. Facilitators from The Lavender Lab (a research lab at UMD focused on understanding forces influencing the mental health and well-being of QTBIPOC communities) will discuss research findings on community strengths and resilience of QTBIPOC community members across time. Then, there will be a community-led discussion regarding QTBIPOC-affirming strategies to help resist oppressive systems and support QTBIPOC parents' resilience, mental health, well-being, and flourishing.

Date - Wednesday, November 12th 7:00 - 8:30 PM
Location - Virtual via Zoom (link will be sent out the day of the event)
Cost - Free for everyone.

This event is a collaboration between QPOCX: Rainbow Families' Parents of Color Connection group and the Lavender Lab (a research lab at the University of Maryland).
